I'm running at 220 fsb @ 2-2-2-11
Its unstable ~225-230

3.3v=vdimm
vtt tracks fine (measured to make sure)

loosening timings (i.e 2.5-3-3-11) yields same results

Ram is Mushkin level one pc3500 with BH5 chips

Stock vdd is 1.7v apparantly. I will mod it when I order VRs. Didn't think it would crap out already though.


Interesting is how before at 2.6vdimm with 2-3-2-11 timings I was running 218x11 @ 1.8v and 218x11.5 @ 1.875v and now 220x11 needs at least .025v more (running it at 1.875 atm for now) and 220x11.5 wouldnt boot windows at 1.975v (didnt try 2v, since .025 more wouldnt be enough to stabilize that)
Is my XP-M crapping out on the fsb?

I tried testing with ram at 80%/120% but these settings are too screwy, it wouldnt boot at stable ram speeds or stable cpu fsb etc with the different ratios.

NB is being cooled by the thermaltake NB cooler w AS5. The sink is warm so it seems to be making contact/working.

Any ideas?

edit: locked up doing superpi 220x11 @ 1.875v :mad:

I should have gotten a higher fsb there but it made no diff.
I could try higher timings, but I didn't think it would make a diff since that didnt do anything.
Anyways, this would have to be pretty bad bh5 if it was stuck 2-2-2 at 220fsb on 3.3v...
 
Is it my cpu?

At 216 fsb, I can get 11.5 multi stable with 1.875v (2484mhz)
At 218 fsb unstable w 11.5 even with 2v (2507mhz)
220 really isnt liking much at all, pretty much ran it with x8

It sounds like I have symptoms needing the L12 mod, but I have done it already for 200fsb

However it was, the point is, even though increasing the fsb is increasing the clock, it is getting much less stable as it goes up even when reducing multipliers.
 
You might simply be hitting a the limits of your motherboard.

Have you tried bumping up the northbridge voltage?
 
once I get ahold of some vr's I will do a mod to increase the vdd and see if that solves the problem

but i'm thinking I should be able to do more... the [H] review of the SN45G they did 250fsb
havent seen any other sn45g higher than ~233 though
