well its around the 9700pro speeds at stock and i think the core can go more up. I was thinking of buying a VGA silencer and some ramsinks. Which ramsinks would be good to fit the L-shaped memory on my 9500. BTW should i buy some AS5 to go with it?
 
I suppose any ramsink would work if there's enough clearance, but if you want perfect fit, you'll need the BGA ramsinks (the square, not rectangular ones). There are several brands, so do a google search and find the ones you like. As for AS5, I think you would have a much better time attaching the ramsinks to your memory modules with thermal epoxy.

depending on which 9500 you have you can softmod that card. i assume you have the non-pro 9500, in that case heres what you can do...

9500 non-pro with Red PCB and L shaped memory = 9700 non-pro
9500 non-pro with Black PCB and L shaped memory = 9700 non-pro
9500 non-pro with Red PCB and 64mb of memory = 9500 pro

I think I'd disagree with that. My 9600xt has Samsung 2.8ns ram. stock voltage I could o/c the ram to 330 (spec for 2.8 is 350). vmod to 2.9v I could oc to 360. added ramsinks w/ceramique b/c they were pretty hot and I could then oc to 370.

on DDR memory like PC4000...I'd agree b/c those heatspreaders are just for decoration.

My exp has been different. I use to always use sinks, then tried cards without. I always had about the same performance. I think if your mem is going to oc, it is going to oc..sinks are not going to make that change, like adding cooling to a CPU or GPU ;)

If nothing else, if you decide to sink the ram and you get the right ones and it doesn't help the oc any, at least your card will look like a porcupine :p
