Ok, been looking forward to this for a coupla months. Finally got the board and chip on Monday and put it all together in my watercooled (swiftech H20-80 kit) setup.

I can't seem to OC more than 220 FSB, though, and I haven't found straight and clear details on where and what to tweak in the BIOS.

Some more details and confused questions...

Do I need to fiddle at all with the hypertransport setting of 1000?

At 2.42ghz, the CPU is running at 40C, which *seems* high.

I have a feeling my memory is acting up, but obviously I'm not sure.

My ram is 2 DIMMS of Corsair 3200 512meg (CMX512-3200C2) and CPU-Z reports the SPD as:

@ 166MHz: 2.0, 3, 3, 7
@ 200MHz: 2.5, 3, 3, 8

But the current timings reported (with mem timings all on auto in the BIOS except for a 3/2 divider) is:

161MHz: 2.0, 3, 3, 6

Gonna try loosening up the timings and see what happens.

Are there any esoteric BIOS settings worth bumping or any which I should avoid outright?

Any links out there with good A8V OC info?

Thanks!

Bring your HT speed down to 4 then bring your multiplier down to 10. You will probably need to bring your memory down to CL2.5 but leave RastoCas Delay at 2 if possible and also leave at 1t command....DONOT BOOT TO WINDOWS UNTIL YOU RUN MEMTEST OR SOMETHING TO VERIFY YOUR STABLE..Otherwise you might hose your OS....
