So, I love my current set-up with the exception of how i have to constantly change and configure sound settings.

Here is my setup:

Here is the win7 audio shens:

as you can see
GREEN is my TV hooked up via HDMI with a radeon 5850
BLUE is USB headset
RED is PC logitech 2.1 speakers

What I would like is for both my HDMI and my Speakers to be on at all times. I can always press the button on the remote to turn off the speakers.

My headset is set-up how I want it using ventrilo and directSound

Any ideas or software I can get to remedy this? i have realtek audio manager but that doesnt really help.

does the TV have audio outputs on the back? hook the speakers up to that, anything that plays on the TV, will play on the speakers, and you can mute as you've already mentioned, should work (unless the TV is sad and lacks a DtoA/the speakers don't take S/PDIF input)

i usually leave the TV off when im not watching it

it does have audio out though, so might try it

hmmm, connect the TV via S/PDIF input from your Realtek's output? (that'd mirror whatever the speakers get)

then you can have the TV off and still get a signal for the speakers, but they'll both play the same thing

hmmm, im not familiar with S/PDIF...but right now i have my tv_audio connected through HDMI.
