Help me identify this hardware! (a nice modded case)

It's Corsair... with the LED display add on.

I think it's called Corsair XMS Pro Series.

Just old Corsair XMS Pro modules with led's. They don't have those for DDR2 I believe.

EDIT: Someone beat me to it!

Eh?

AMD's socket AM2 dual core CPU's support DDR2 memory. Socket 939 doesn't, but that goes for every CPU (single and dual core) because of the integrated memory controller on AMD64's. You need a new chipset to add the support - you can't just put DDR2 in a DDR1 system and hope it works.

Corsair does have Pro modules for DDR2 (here's a DDR2 800 emaple): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145039

AMD Socket 939, 754, and 940 do not support DDR2. Only socket AM2 does, and dual core supports it too if it's socket AM2.

Sorry I meant my socket 939 not dual core chips in general, sorry for the mixup. Well actually my dual core Opteron does not support DDR2 since its socket 939. Anyone know were I can pick up the DDR1 modules of Corsair XMS Pro Series, newegg doesnt seem to carry them.

Edit: found them on the egg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145594

I have some of those series, it was about year ago, that I got them and I got them from newegg. Glad you found them there...I love them, absolutely no problem with them whatsoever!

They also make new ones that have digital read outs, on the top, of the temp and some other things.
