Someone is giving these out for free but the drive will be about an hour away. I wanna see if its worth the drive. Im interested in the one on the right. Can anyone identify this CRT?

Never mind, found it by doing a search for "sun" on the main page of that site.

They are Sun trinitrons, there are 3 models that i know of that had that color scheme. One of them has a resolution limit of only 1600x1200, which means it's not a very capable CRT.

Unless he can provide you with an exact model number to research then you may be wasting time, money and effort imho.

Edit: unless you take both of them, chances are one of them will work well. Hmm, the one on the right almost looks like a mitsubishi tube/case, not sure if Sun ever used those.

Housemate had a 22" Sun CRT until last year. Thing weighed a ton  Unfortunately the electron guns were misaligned so it got carried off to the recycling center :(

Yeah, those things are heavy. Like 40+ pounds. I had the GDM-5410 awhile back. I was a great monitor, except there were 2 horizontal black lines on the screen that all Trinitron have, that I coudn't help but focus on, and they drove me crazy.

Sony even knows about them, and says nothing can be done about it:

A thin, gray horizontal line may be visible on a Trinitron® television
or computer monitor while a light-colored background is displayed on the
screen. This is a shadow of the aperture grille damper wire. The function of
the damper wire is to keep the wires that make up the aperture grille from
vibrating.
