Help me get this POS Working, wireless card

Ok, here is my problem, it irrates the shit out of me. There is a router that I can use that is located in my building, however is it kind of far away. I get from good- to low signal strength about -77dm and 36mbps. The wireless card i have is Motorola xxxxG and router is Belkin54g. I can download files at decent speed, browse internet, listen to radio, but gaming...... ahhhh. It times out every time I open a damn game no matter if it is a singleplayer or multiplayer. In COD2MP its stuck on getting the server list from master server, in GW its stuck on Connecting in Full screen mode, but in WINDOWED mode it seems at work at times. i used the same wireless card when I had my own internet and I have never had shit like that happen, somebody please help.
