help me from losing my data!

right now I have a 60gb seagate drive @ 5400rpms.

I just purchased the new 200gb drive from seagate. Is there a program that can dupe my current hd and dump the image to the new 1?

will it work as normal?

I figured if there was a program, I would just load in the new drive as a secondary drive, dupe and dump the image on the new drive. Discard my old drive and set the new drive as primary.

Is there such a program?
If yes, would I do it exactly as mentioned above?

In addition to higher level software like Ghost, many times there will be cloneing software from the manufacturer. I know Maxtor's Maxblast will do this
 
Most retail drives ship with a transfer program. If you bought an OEM you can still DL those utilities from the drive manufacture.

My question to you is why? You’re buying a new drive, which is much faster. Why put all that accumulated junk from the old drive on the new one?

Do a fresh OS install instead, get all your updated drivers and windows patches taken care of first. Then put your old drive in as your primary slave and transfer your important data files to the new drive.

Any programs you have will run better as new installs. After that just format the old drive and use it for storage.
