Hi

I cant deside what monitor to buy.

But i am looking on this https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/MG28UQ/
and i heard both good and bad about it..some say TN panels are bad and Asus screen is a bit darker in colours.

Atm i use a samsung 27" Sa650D

I want a 4k monitor with a screen stand than can adjust at least 150 mm in hight.

Im using 970 gtx sli and i cant afford G sync, so Freesynch is fine with me.

Any other screens i should buy on 28" 4k ? plz help me to choose to the best and right screen.

With your current card setup, I wouldn't touch 4k for gaming, your cards will be much more viable for 1440p (especially with only 3.5GB of VRAM). Any particular reason you're targeting 4k other then "latest and greatest"? If you have plans in the near future to upgrade to something truly capable of 4k, then disregard this.

As J ^^^ pointed out, Nvidia doesn't support freesync, you're going to have to shell out for G-Sync if that's what you're targeting. It's pricey (especially compared to freesync) and will be out of your price range specified, but IMO, I'm extremely happy with it if you decide to spend the extra money on it.

I have a buddy with the Asus ROG SWIFT PG279Q (IPS) and we compared it to my Dell G-Sync monitor (TN) in my sig, and yes, there is a color difference, his blacks are deeper then mine, and my color appears "colder" then his does. He played the QC lottery and won 1st time around, I opted for the safe bet. Both are great monitors and have their ups and downs, I'd suggest reading up on the difference and possible QC issues for any monitor you decide to look at.
 
I know that but i cant afford G sync

And yes i will upgrade my pc some day, so this screen i choose is a keeper for the next 5 years at least

Are you sure about these cards cant deal with 4k ?
They do have 4 GB and not 3.5

I checked other forums and some people use same cards for 4 k screens and says it runs fine
 
Depends on the game and settings you intend to use. Many newer titles will require 6+GB of VRAM to work well at 4K with high settings. You'll probably have to turn some things down, but depending on how sensitive you are to frame rate and the kind of games you want to play, it may very well be fine. Only way to be sure is to try.

As for the 4GB / 3.5GB thing, Nvidia kinda screwed up on the GTX 970 and the last 512MB of its RAM is substantially slower. It's there, but causes problems when you really start filling those frame buffers.

Were I you, I'd be looking at smaller Samsung 4K TVs rather than monitors if you must have 4K. A 34" 21:9 monitor may be a better choice, though.
 
I personally think that TN panels aren't good for anything but basic office work... others will argue that isn't the case.
 
Good call! Honestly, I think you will be much happier with 1440p. True, smooth 4k performance just isn't within a majority's (myself include) budget. Yet.

PG278Q gets my vote (the others aren't g-sync, but freesync). Some will knock TN panels for their lack of color depth, but I'm a fan.

Actually the latter is 75hz. But its a nice improvement over 60hz, noticeably smoother. To me VA panels high contrast ratio is always more desireable over IPS panels stable colors from all angles, but YMMV.
 
I found a video on the VA showing how fragile these screens are to light and heat and the flickers when you touch the the screen looks like a lightning show
 
The light and heat thing is nonsense. You should not leave ANY delicate electronic device in direct sunlight or hot car or such. In home you'll have no problems. Almost every televisions has a VA panel, think about it for a second.

Also you should not put pressure on any flat panel display. Sometimes you might be able to massage a stuck pixel with a little pressure and rubbing but it might just as well cause more damage. This applies to both IPS and VA and is not really a negative to either since its something you should not do anyway.
