I am down to the wire please help me out.
I need a gaming Monitor foremost, an internet browser 2nd, and a movie viewer 3rd. Also i would prefer a res of 1600 x 1200 over 1650 x 1080. I had a dell 2005fpw and i gotta say the widescreen could get annoying when games needed to be stretched to fit the screen right.

VX2025WM all the way. I have a few people at work that have them and they just look great. Widescreen is damn nice.

has anyone had issues with the DVI on the VX2025WM?

hmm i was leaning towards the samsung truth be told, but, now i am not so sure...

I dunno honestly what is peoples issues with the DVI cause I have had no such issues and I had one of the first batches of the monitor shipping out. I do remember that when I was flipping between the VGA and DVI out, the monitor got pissed off at me and went into "standbye mode" I simply unplugged it, waited and tried again, worked fine.

In case you hadn't already, here is my thread dedicated to the V2025WM. Its not perfect *no LCD* but for the price, you simply can't beat it. The "X" backlight bleeding is somewhat lame, but I rarely get that dark of a screen to notice it and the ghosting is almost zilch in every game I play once the panel warms up.

Both of the 2 people in the office have work perfect. They're about a month old.

hmm seams the more i read about the 2025 the more i love to hate it. overall it is a pretty goof monitor. Sadly i think i am going to need the 1600 x 1200 just to get a good image when playing FPS games at 800 x 600. Also isn't the Samsung a faster panel then the viewsonic? I am not talkign what it says on the box i mean straight out realworld performance. anyone know first hand? the main thing is i don't mind using Vsync, i have grown used to it so it's a non issue... what i REALLY don't want to see is ghosting or blurring.

what about backlight bleeding? everywhere i look there is reference to corner bleeding...

Ok, I played with the one on my bosses desk today. No ghosting and noticed a slight backlight bleed on a couple of the corners on a complete black screen with the lights off. Still was better than any of my 2005's.

lol, i figured the only WS panel on the list would be winning. Funny how the WS fans flock to these kind of threads...

Definately steer clear of off brands though...
