Help Me Decide Silverstone Sg01, or Qpack?

I can't decide between these two cases. What do you guys all suggest. I would get the all black windowless qpack, or the black sg01. I just can't decide. The qpack, just seems like it would be a bitch to get everything neat. I would be using a antec neopower, and a plextor 740, and a SATA Maxtor Maxline. I am debating on getting the plextor 716sa/sw series burner to rid my case of IDE, but I've heard many horror stories. Also, the jetway mobo is not listed on the plextor mobo list. Anyone have any experience on this mobo, and that drive? Thanks.

If money and time are no objects then get the SG01 and spend time making it what you want.

If you want a case that is great right out of the box at one hell of a price then get the Q-Pack.

Myself, I got the SG01 as I do not like plastic on the outside of my cases. The SG01's finish is stunning, but you pay a premium.

The SG01 is also a little harder to quietly cool. It can be done; I managed it.

It takes time and more money, however.

Both cases have good modding potential, too.

EDIT: (You already posted here... but...) http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=942750

I feel like ive seen this thread 3+ times by you

Id flip a coin. They both have their positives and negatives.... but lets face it, the SG01 just looks cleaner, and doesnt look "cheap".

From what I can tell the Qpack easier to build in and it looks cheap, the Silverstone however looks stunning. The only real cravat of the chassis is your CPU is stuck under the PSU which can be a total pain, the stock cooler & my PSU had a little argument over which one wanted the air and both ended up with their fans flat-out (to keep things no cooler than if had the PSU on the desk :(), I ended up making a card duct to separate the airflow for the two fans.

It would probably work perfectly if you had your cpu fan pushing air towards the PSU fan. Worth a try, right?

If I was trying to make a decision between the two, I'd be mighty tempted to get the Qpack and spend the extra money on a faster processor or better video card. (In the interests of full disclosure, I do own a qpack).
Sg01 IS nice looking, but damn, you can get a lot more processor or video with the difference.

50£ buys you one rung on the AMD or Intel ladder unless you're on the bottom end of processor ladder, simlar story for graphics cards I feel.

Well, $100.00 (the difference on Newegg, about 54gbp, I believe) will buy the difference between an A64 3000 and an A64 3500 or a 3700 to a 4000. Both of those are pretty decent jumps. I realize that most, if not all, of the difference could be made up by overclocking, if one is so inclined.

The same $100.00, when applied to purchasing the case, is unlikely to yield any performance boost. At this point, it becomes a matter of picking which ever case suits one's fancy.

Well first off it's more like 50£ which get you from 3700+ to 3800+ (45£ ish) and the 3700+ is more favourable cause it's got 1MB L2 so you can clock to a 4000+. The 3000+ to 3500+ comment is fair (about 55£) however if I was spending 140£ on a chassis I wouldn't be thinkin' about putting in a bottom-end CPU (maybe that's an assumption to far?). As for graphics cards I basically go for something about 1 or 2 steps down from top notch, purely cause it tends to yield the best performance/price/longevity compromise, so I'm not sure what the comparitive performences are like.

But then again I'm basing my views on the way I buy my hardware...

well, he never said what kind of cpu he was gonna stick in, but yeah, $160 is too much for me. thats like double the price of a qpack, that settles it for me right there.

The Qpack is the first $36+ case that I have bought. I have never spent more than $35 for a case.

Well, IDK. I'm using a 7800 GTX, or Ultra. X2 4400+, and X-Fi Fatal1ty. So, It's all about the case. So, I don't know. I still my get the qpack.

I had an SG01 with an OCZ 450W PSU and the Foxconn NF4 MB and could not get either of my clawhammer CPU's to work stable (FX-55 or 3500+) Sent it all back to Newegg for Refund.

After owning Shuttle's the SG01 case is HUGE and I could not get used to it. Did not care for the internal setup either and any minute sound was amplified by the huge empty volume of that case. Even after replacing all the fans with SillenX fans it was still too loud.

Newegg finally received a shipment of the latest X-Qpack (solid black w/no windows) in stock so I took a chance and ordered one with a refurb MSI RS480M2 MB - total cost $136!

I must say I am very impressed so far, the Qpack runs very quiet and all my high end components are installed and running without a hitch. Cool and Quiet is working perfectly and I can even control my CPU fan speed with Speedfan! (This was my biggest gripe previously with the ATI MB's)

X-Qpack build: MSI RS480M2, FX-55, X850XT w/ATI 5 Silencer, 1GB Kingston HyperX, Sony CDRW/DVD, Audigy2, Dell 2001FP, Klipsch Promedia 4.1

Here's some pics to compare:

I went with the QPack because for me it was all about having the windows to show off my hardware. 1, 2, 3 of em! Both are good looking cases though.
