Help me decide between 3 LCD's

Hi everyone,

I'm torn between two 17" and one 19" LCDs. The 17"s are the LG L1720B and the Sony SDM-HS73. The 19" Sony is the SDM-HS93. The LG L1920B is not available here in Brazil, and the only Samsung offered in 17" is the 173V (and I didn't really like it) - the 173P has to ordered and it costs more than the 19-inch Sony. Other brands are virtually non-existant.

Which 17" do you think is superior, the LG or the Sony? If the Sony is better, I might be able to afford the 19-incher, if it's as good.

What do you guys think? It'll be used most for music/audio production, but I still do my own fair share of gaming to justify needing a fast display.

Thanks.

Really? Why do you think it's a better display? Í think I could actually buy the 19-inch Sony, unless it sucks (if you think the LG is a better 17-inch, I'd probably go for it).

I'm thinking of getting the LG myself, the L1720P. From what I've heard, it's a very nice display. I know the LG is 16ms, I'm assuming the Sony 19" is 20ms or so?

The Sony is at least 20ms (might be 25), but these numbers don't seem to be much of an indication of real-life performance (I've heard some reviews about the Sony being better for gaming).

It's much prettier, in my point-of-view :) Joking aside, I saw them both today in a store.

The Sony seemed to have a better response and the colors were nice, but this was during a very short and bright Shrek movie scene. I've read a review which stated the Sony's rendering of dark colors was innacurate, and that's what's keeping me from buying it.

Anyone notice that?
