I am going to be buying a X6800 sooner or later, but my question is this: If I go to a certain website and order 1 NOW, will it be the same stepping code etc... as one I might buy 2-3 weeks from now? What Im trying to say is, are the X6800 that some of these websites have in stock the better stepping (I think stepping 5) and the ones that will be in later shipment might be different.... I want one of those go OC'ers (dont we all :p )

no way to really tell. who knows whos getting what from what shipments?
unless the vendor can tell you. Some places let you pick your steping codes like tank guys. but if you want one now, order one now :)
if your not happy with your results. sell it early and im sure youll be able to get most of it back
