Help me cool down my comp!

I just bought an A64 3200+, MSI K8N Platinum, Radeon X800Pro, Raptor 74GB, and Coolermaster Wave Master Black. My CPU and System temp are both at 46C idle and shoots up to around 53-54C on load. My friend says the a64 chips have a higher treshold but the temps still seem a little scary. I have the rear case fan running as well as the two in front and plan to buy another 80mm fan to blow down from the top with the optional fan holder that came with the case. I'm using the stock a64 cooler than came with the processor so I need a recommendation for a better hsf combo. Thanks guys!

what heatsink/fan and thermal paste are you using? these temps are pretty high for that setup.

everything's stock atm. i just used the thermal paste that was already applied at the bottom of the hsf.

that's your problem. stock sucks. get an aftermarket heatsink/fan (i highly recommend Zalman) and some Arctic Silver 5.

upgrade to a bigger case OORRR watercooling. i OCed my comp to 4.2GHz the other day and i only got up to about 45C on load. Watercooling really keeps things cool. but it might be different for you

How's this? Thermalright SLK-948U I need a recommendation for a fan too. Is there anywhere to buy this stuff other than frozencpu? they're a little pricey

Just go get the Zalman 7000-cu hsf and some Artic Silver 5 or ceramique. The Zalman HSF has a fan and speed controller that comes with it, performs well and won't make you deaf.

You can get both together at http://www.svc.com for about $42 US + s/h. The Zalman 7000-alcu is about $7 cheaper and is almost as good.
