I have an old Compaq desktop PC that I need to get on a wireless network. It's old enough (around 7-8 years old) that it did not come standard with a wireless card. Recently, I now have the need to install one in this machine. My question is; judging by the age of the machine, what type of internal card do you think I'd need (PCI or something else?) I ask this because the computer belongs to my dad and is currently at his place, so I can't just open it up and see what slots I have to work with. He wants me to get him a card on my way to their place after work tomorrow to install for him, so I was just considering what my best bet would be.
Another question in regards to this; if I get an external card, would USB 1.1 be sufficient enough to run a wireless G card or would I need USB 2.0?
I would prefer to get an internal card, though.
