Here goes
I currently have a Canon A75 and it's outlived it's usefullness. So time to get something new

Should I ...

A: Get a Canon A620
or
B: Get a Panasonic FX9K

The Canon has 7mp vs the Panasonics 6mp. Also has 1x more zoom. And a flip LCD
But the Panasonic is an ultra compact camera, has a larger LCD. Has Image Stablization and is cheaper.

Normally this would be no contest. A620 would win but heres the thing. I plan on buying a full DSLR In a few months. (Olympus E500 probably).

I want this purchase to be more of a portable/carry around everywhere camera. With that in mind the Panasonic looks like a better choice since it's not as bulky.

I just dont know, Any other reccomendations. I was considering a Kodak V550 for portable but the pansonic is alot better.

at 439. It's not worth it as i'll be spending 800+ A month down the road for something alot better.

If i was going to buy only one camera in the 400-600 dollar range. it prob be a Panasonic DMC-FZ30K or similar.

I NEED 7mp+ On the high end since i'll be printing 8x10 and larger

How about Panasonic DMC-LZ2, it is under $250 and it has IS...
