Help Me Choose A Case!

Hey guys,

I'm looking to purchase a new case and was looking for something that's very quiet but also very strong. I was thinking somewhere in the $100-$150 range. Essentially I wanted a Silverstone TJ-09, but there's no way I can justify spending $300 on a piece of metal. Basically I want something thats black, quiet, strong, windows are cool but not required, and preferably little ot no LEDs. I've currently got an X-Dreamer II, and its loud and the LEDs are annoying. Anyway, I've narrowed it down to the following cases, so which would you choose and why? I am open to other suggestions however. And please don't recommend any coolermaster, or any other antec cases --- I think they are all ugly

I know the P182 is probably one of the most quiet cases, so I'm considering it, but I dunno...
Also, the Lian-Li cases I've chosen seem to be made of quality material, but are they quiet? And i don't really see the difference between the Lian-Li's I've chosen besides the few cosmetic differences... is there someone I'm missing? Maybe some are better than others?
How bout that Silverstone?

I'll also probably be pairing it with a Corsair 620HX PSU to replace my Apevia 520 one.

Anyway, I appreciate your feedback.

Why no CM Stacker 832? It's black, quiet, strong, sexy, extremely functional, great cooling. Only downside is the really bright HDD LED, but just unplug it if you don't want it.

i'd say go with the

LIAN LI PC-7B plus II

because it's a great value and the case has great design and features. I like my P180, but i like the lighter and "doorless" cases better.

I have the PC-7B, love it. Though, I was debating a Stacker or the V1000B only because I want to suspend my hard drives now and need a few more optical bays to do it, but for what it is, the PC-07 is wonderful.

I dont want a stacker, mainly because I don't like how the case looks. Just not my style. I dont really like anything that coolermaster makes. As far the PC-7B goes, how loud is it in comparison to say the p182, will long video cards fit, and is there a windowed version? I will admit, the PC-7B looks great...

I'll probably have the case I buy for at least the next 4 years, so thats why I'm trying to get everything sorted out now...

I really think that at this point, quietness is one of the most important factors for me.

OK, I'm a big fan of silent computing, so let me say this:

Your case is as quiet as you want to make it. I have 3 yate loon 120mm fans in there at 7v, and it's near silent. If the front case fan wasn't positioned directly to my side at near ear level, I wouldn't hear the damn thing. Keep in mind I have no sound dampening in there, and I'm using a window as well. Since I never used the P182 (and despise the look of it), I can't compare, but this case is pretty quiet and I haven't even really made an effort outside of a fan controller.

As far as graphics cards, I have an 8800GT in there, which comes about a half an inch or so away from the edge of my motherboard. The hard drives (if you choose to use the top drive bay) are another inch away from the motherboard, and about an inch down. If you used the two bottom bays and kept the top bay clear, your graphics card has enough clearance to use the entire length of the case.

The PC-7B, PC-65B is an outstanding mid-size case. I had a PC-65B before I went to a P180. That POS lasted about 2 months; threw it out in the trash after getting my G70 (Lain-Li as well).

Personally, I'm very biased to LL. Great materials, light and have a very good rep for lasting. The PC-65B has a removable motherboard tray, and a separate HD tray as well if I can remember correctly. I'd personally lean you towards that. It seems a bit larger than the 7B, but I could be wrong.

Stacker has a pretty potent following here as well, however in the end, I'd still go with LL.

LIAN LI PC-7B plus II because it uses 120mm fans (quieter than 80mm)

I used to have a PC-65B and loved it, but if I were to buy a Lian Li now I would go with the 7B plus II. It is a very similar case design integrating 120mm front and rear fans. Simple, clean, and high quality

I think I like the looks a little better, but is it just as good quality/airflow/etc as the PC-7B? Not seein too much info about it anywhere...

Same case design, different front panels. I'm willing to bet they're quieter than the PC07, simply because the front isn't completely open, though I don't know how much airflow will be restricted by using the vents on the sides.

I have the Lian Li PC-A70 and love it.

The PC-7B looks like a very slick mid-tower case, Thats what I'd vote for as well.
