Ok so my parents really dont want me spending $250 on a video card... To them you can do so many other things with it blah blah I really could care less, Now that I have the money I would like to buy a new video card.

But then I come into the issue. How can I buy online if they dont let me use there creditcard?

Anyone have any ideas of how I can order a VideoCard online without using my parents Creditcard?
 
If you have a checking account some places (not very many) will take your check info and bill you that way.

It is not very common.

If a seller in our FS/FT forum is desperate enough he/she might let you send him/her a check in the mail.
He/she might not ship the item until your check clears though.
 
You could always buy a gift card credit card from somewhere. Hell i think 7-11 has prepaid mastercards. You could just transfer the cash to one of those and buy the video card.
 
Why dont they just sue the card, then You pay them back whatever it was?

Hmm this sounds pretty unique and easy, So do I just goto local bank and place money on like a gift card/ creditcard and can use it online? Or do I have to have a bank account with that certain bank in order to get that Credit/Gift Card?

Just go to Pay Pal's site and read the fine print. All of it.
It should take about an hour and a half.

Or slightly less intense is the page on account types.

Still you should read all the fine print before making a Pay Pal account.

I recieved a American Express at Christmast, and tried to use it, no go, because there is no way to verify the address.

Get a free checking account, and it usually will have a free visa check card, and that you can use it whever visa is accepted.
 
do you have any friends whose parents are cool about that stuff? just give them cash, buy it with their CC and ship it to ur friends house, this way ur parents will never even find out. if they do just say ""insert name here" had an old card that he doesnt need and its better then mine so he gave it to me for free, isnt he cool!" or something along those lines. my parebts are cool about me buying stuff online so im lucky.

Yep....I got a few Simon Cards ( You know, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....THATS THE NICEST THING THAT ANYONE EVER DONE FOR ME)......Till i tried using it online...they wouldnt even take it over the phone.

Are you buying brand new? Most places will take a Money order. Just phone them up and ask. Im sure they will work something out for you. I mean unless you are REALLY young....like under 10 or something. In that case......forget what i just wrote....i dont want to be held responsible.

Maybe thats them hinting its time to get a job...depending on how old your are..haha.

My parents never gave me money. The only time I saw it was on B-Days. Got a job Soph Year in HS and its very nice to spend you OWN money than it is spending someone elses. That sounds so incredibly contradictory, but there is something gratifying in knowing that when that package arrives you paid for it all by yourself.
 
I have used a giftcard before for online purchases. If you find one with the Visa logo (Mine was from a store called Simons, not Siemens lol) sometimes you can use it online. Especially from the many Yahoo stores you find around. I bought a video card from logicalplus.com, and even though their customer service sucks, I did use the Simons giftcard and it worked.

This is probably the best thing to do.
 
yeah, money order will probably be your best bet, you can get them at your local bank probably, or if not there, then at a party store.. then you mail that in, with your order, and then bam! they ship your order, and you recieve it... but it gets there slower, because your doing it the old fashioned way.......

I DO have a job, what I meant was they never give me there card to buy online (bah). They are paranoid russians who think that buying online=All there money stolen.

Never tried the prepaid cards that I said but it would make sence how people said they will not work at some places because of the address check. Next thing is yea get a free checking account with a debit card.

Ah, I get it now. I meant no offense btw. Apply for a CC then :) Just make sure they dont have Annual Fees and you'll be golden. Go Student Cards!
