hey gang. I need a digital camera. I would like something small for traveling. Cost should 250ish, little higher or a little lower okay. I want good clear pictures ( I currently own a Canon Rebel 35mm SLR and I am quite pleased). I have been looking at Nikon's but am intrigued be Panasonic. Canon's are my brand of choice but tend to be a bit higher priced. What about the Sony Cyber shot series? Do I need/want image stabilization? I don't think I want lithium ion batteries either. What else should I be looking for? Any models you can recommend? Thanks. uglybaby

you want IS, it is worth it's weight in gold.......

Okay I'm narrowing down some possible selections.
Canon A610

Canon SD450

Nikon Coolpix L1

and possibly the
Canon PS IS2

The IS2 is a little more than what I orginally wanted to spend but I don't want to be looking for another camera in a year or so. I like the compactness of the others but I am used to an SLR setup and really like the idea of 12x optical and IS. I was hoping to avoid a an SLR size camera for traveling this summer though....Anyone way in with some opinions with these picks or some additional ones? Again the IS 2 is a little out of my league right now but perhaps in a couple months I'll be able to afford one.

So I think I've narrowed it down to two. But they're both totally different and I have no idea which one to get.
1. The Canon IS S2
2. Sony Dsc p200
The Canon has an Slr type setup with IS and 12x optical
The sony is smaller than the width of a CD and has great pictures 7mp and good reviews. Ahhhh if only I could just by them both and solve this easily. Any help?
