I recently sold my AMD x2 3800+ box so I could build another. I'm wanting to go with a core 2 duo on this build. I already have my case, PSU and optical drives. So, I need a CPU Motherboard, RAM, video card, and harddrive. I have $600 to spend on the parts so I'm asking the Hardforum community to pitch in and help find me the best bang for my buck. I will be purchasing through newegg and it would be awesome if you guys could link to the product pages. Thanks alot!

It's gonna be tight with that budget, but here goes nothing:

CPU: Conroe e6300: $190

Motherboard: Gigabyte 965P-DS3: $135

Hard Drive: Western Digital 250gb: $70

Memory: Corsair XMS 1gb DDR2 800: $123

Video Card: EVGA 7600GT: $110

Total: $628

I know it's a little over, if you're going to try and save a little more somewhere, I suspect the motherboard is the place to do it. This motherboard has a reputation for being a pretty good overclocker though, it's what I'm using right now. I think the extra $28 would be well worth it.

that looks pretty good, I may go with it, hopefully ordering tomorrow.

Well, I was just about to order, and the mobo is out of stock. Anyone have another suggestion because I need the computer tomorrow.
