Hey all,
So after a near-6 month process of getting RA on a video card (5970 black edition), I have gotten a store credit (and hence budget!) with PC Case Gear for $699.00
I currently have a 7970 BEDD, which goes up to around 75-85°C (depending on ambient temperature) when it's used at 100%.
I'd like to use the credit to make a bit of an investment into a long-term flexible water cooling setup which I'll be able to use on future graphics cards / possibly include a future CPU (currently I have a megahalems on my i7 which keeps it under 60 at all times).
I had previously read into water cooling when I first had the temperature issues with the card but I didn't go much further than seeing that it will cost a lot and is quite complicated to set up...
I was thinking of getting the following:
EK Full Cover VGA Block EK-FC7970 Acetal+EN Nickel
Koolance PMP-450S 12/24V Water Pump - I don't know if this or the not-S is better? I don't believe I'll be regulating flow rate so I just settled with this one for the moment..
Koolance RP-452X2 Reservoir for PMP-450/S Pumps Rev.2.0 - Is this overkill?
I'd really want to get a free-standing radiator if not the entire setup being external (I have an Antec 902 case; don't know if this is possible?)
Alternately I could get this:
Swiftech MCR220-DRIVE Radiator with Pump
which combines a pump, radiator and resevoir all together?
If this is no good, here are my main options for radiators:
Koolance KIT-EHX1020AL 3×120mm Radiator/Fans/Shroud Assembly Kit
Black Ice GTX 420 Radiator
I don't know if any of this would be good/bad though so I'll just hang out on some inputs! Sorry to post such a long post with a lot of requests..
Also if anyone feels that it would be smarter to get something else or keep the credit for the moment then please let me know! I don't want to blow it all and then be dissatisfied with the outcome..
Thanks
