Hey everyone,
I need to move my PC into a location in which it needs to be considerably quieter. Where it currently is now, noise was never an issue.
Here is what I currently have:
Thermaltake Xaser III V2000A
7 - Thermaltake smart case fan II (80mm)
Corsair CMPSU-620HX
Asus a7n8x-e deluxe
AMD 3200+ XP
Thermalright - SP 97
1 Delta 92x38mm FFB0912EHE
OCZ Platinum 2GB
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro AGP

I don't want to go with water cooling or with anything that will cost a small fortune. I was thinking along the lines of replacing all the fans with quieter ones and using MX-2 instead of AS5 as I don't want too much of an increase in temps. Any ideas for replacement fans that will be quieter and have good airflow would be very helpful. Any other suggestions to make the PC quieter are welcome as well.
Thanks in advance!

Replace all fans with low rpm 120mm fans and get an aftermarket cooler for the x1950. That Delta fan im sure is loud as hell also, replace it with a low-mid speed 120mm. I recommend Scythe S-flex 800 or 1200 rpm fans, or if you want to go all out, get all 1600 rpms and put them on some fan controllers. The S-Flexes are expensive. Scythe S Flex around 800-1000 is inaudible to me in my P182, which is a very quite case. Get a PSU with a 120mm fan on the top of bottom if you dont already have one. As it is right now, my two 80mm PSU fans are the loudest in my case, against 7 120mm fans, and they are still pretty quiet. Yate Loon's ive heard are a good quiet alternative that arent too much money either.

Well there isn't enough room (nor do I want to take the time to mod) in my case for the 7 fans to be anything other than 80mm. The biggest fan the heatsink will take is 92x38mm. My PSU has 1 120mm fan. Keep the suggestions coming!

You could always buy some of that sound-dampening fabric......but really, its the 80mm fans that are killing you.

Building silent is about quality and the right components.

Nexus Real Silent 80mm and 92mm fans may be the easiest solution here. The 80mm fans make a tiny amount of noise, but a 10v converter cable or a fan speed controller will take care of that :)

The problem is definately the 80mm fans. 7 80mm fans, unless you buy silent ones, will make way too much noise.

Yeah, I realize that the problem is with all the fans, which is why I came to all of you to get your suggestions :)
Thanks Mister on your suggestion for the 80mm replacements. Anyone else have any input for those? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for the replacement of my CPU fan? I'm looking for something that pushes more air than the fan Mister has suggested but is quieter that the one I currently have.

You could try the Arctic Cooling 92mm PWM. It'll speed up as required and pushes more air than the Nexus. The Nexus is dead quiet, whereas this one will make a tad bit of noise at full speed.

Pushes more air AND quieter is a very hard thing to do. The Tt fans are actually fairly quiet I have a case if not identical, is very similar to yours. The problem is the case is all show and no flow. The front drive bay orientation and design kills the lower front intake airflow and the side and top fans have restrictive grills the both increase noise and reduce the effect of the fan. I tried everything, different fans, removing/opening up the grills, removing filters etc. There are just too many fans. I removed the 2 side fans and that helped a lot with noise and interesting enough did little to temps. I inherited this case from a customer that just could not get good OCing using it and gave up. I admit it defeated me as well attempting to improve the air cooling. 80mm fans just will just not do the job quietly and give decent airflow.

All I am saying is that IMO (worth exactly what you paid for it :D ) these cases are crap for air cooling and there is little you can do to improve it. Before you spend $10 x 7 + new HS/fan + shipping, think hard about watercooling. It ended up being the only viable solution with this case that I could come up with. A Tt 745 is $150ish (the only Tt WCing system I would even think of using or recommending) and other kits are out there as well.

Wish I had a better comment/solution to your issue.
