HELP! low 3dmark06 score

ok, furmark was low...3dmark06 is continuing the trend. my score is 11677. i know its low due to my cpu, but the graphics part is low too. here is the break down:

sm 2.0: 5200

hdr sm 3.0: 6245

cpu: 2288

card is an xfx 4890 clocked at 850 core and 975 mem. uninstalled and reinstalled latest drivers (cat 9.11) with no change. any ideas?

Otherwise no one can really say. I know when I bumped up my CPU to a quad core my GPU score also improved. Also I've noticed that benchmark tests aren't always the best to test how well your system is. The games you actually play is a lot better of a test.

win xp pro 32 bit

cpu: athlon 7750 be

motherboard: asus m4a78-e

memory: 4 gigs g skill 1066

psu: antec tp II 550

GPU: xfx 4890 @ 850 core/975 memory
 
if that cpu isn't clocked up a bit it is going to be a bottleneck and bring down you GPU score.
 
i have the stock cooler on it so i doubt it will overclock much...ill see what i can do.
 
You def need to get an aftermarket cooler and overclock that cpu. Otherwise, as long as your games are playing smoothly, don't worry about benchmarks so much
