[HELP] Laptop freezes when playing games

Hi there,

This is first time I post here, but it seems that you guys got a hang of things like this, so I'm hoping you can help me out on this.

I have a problem with my under 1 year old laptop. It freezes randomly when I'm playing games like Warcraft III, Lineage II and GTA: Vice City.

The specs are:
Pentium 4, 3.06Ghz
1024MB RAM
Radeon 9000 Mobility with newest drivers (just reintalled yesterday)
Windows XP Professional

I have also installed Rage3D, but didn't really edit any of the settings other than try to set the 'overclock' to a minimum to see if that helped, which it didn't. Along with that I tried to lower all the settings in the options and in the games, which didn't help me either.

I'm completely lost, and quiet desperate. I will be you guys ever thankful if I can get this solved.

Just to clarify, the laptop freezes and thus you have to restart? Or is it the individual games that are giving you the freezing error and making you shoot back to the desktop?

Just trying to gather the facts.

It freezes totally. I will have to restart via the restart-button.
