help istalling 2 more raid 0 drives

i just got 2 36g raptors and want to install them. my questoin is, with the system in my sig , can i install the 2 raptors in raid 0 array and just tranfer some games from my first 2 raid 0 drives to the raptors? can i run 2 raid 0 arrays? can i have the maxtors be the boot drives, like they are now, and use the raptors in raid 0 for games only? do i set this up when i boot up or do i use the nvidia mediashield program in winxp that i have installed? basically what i want to do is use the 2 drives i have installed right now in raid 0 juist like they now.i dont want to change them at all. then i want ti install the 2 raptor in a raid 0 config to play game off of only. i hope this makes since. oh i think ill have to format these drive too.they were used and had some programs on them.

you certainly can, but some games read registry settings concerning their location, so you may have to reinstall them,

chances are that if your controller has 4 ports, it will allow you to run two arrays

there should be nothing from preventing you to do that.

well, if you already have winXP booting off the first raid array, you just create a second array, format it and assign it a drive letter.
 
one last thing: you may have to make sure that the boot order is still good after installing the second array. It does depend on your controller though.
 
everything went fine with the install. but now i want to put all of my games and benchmarks on the new array. how do i transfer the programs? i tried ti just move them but i ended up with the same program on both drives. how do i take bf2 from my boot array and move it to my raptor array?

it is likely that you will have to reinstall it to the new array:

1. copy the 'game state' information to a save place
2. uninstall the game
3. install game to "raptor array"
4. restore 'game state' information
 
Yes, as said, if you just cut and paste the game folder, all of the registry settings will be wrong and result in your games not wokring, very VERY few games allow you to copy and paste the game directory and still work after. (Unreal Tournaments lets you do it)
 
the two games i need to move are bf2 and world of warcraft. what do i need to do to save my in game setting and my add-ons? what else would i benifit from by put on the raptors from the other raid0 array i have? like 3d mark,ect.

I think that question may be better suited for the "gaming" forum, where people are likely more familiar.
 
ok asuming u are installign the SAME game versions etc.

simply copy paste the game folders to the new drive.

uninstall from old drive

reinstall OVER the copied folders ont he new drives. this will over write 90% of the files but should leave updates patches new maps etc all intact and recover the registry settings.

Thats how i did it anyway :)

a smarter choice would be:
1. backup comeplete game folde
2. uninstall
3. install game to new drive (raid-array)
4. copy backed-up folders over new install.
 
bf2 has a lot of game files and wouldnt have a clue as to which ones to copy and back-up.
