Well I was installing my Thermalright SI-97 today and now I have a blank screen. I do not have too much thermalpaste on, shim is in the right place etc. when I turn it on just blank screen, it wont kick the monitor on. any suggestions?

you got a fan plugged in???some motherboard wont power on unless it senses a fan on the CPU fan header...

Clean the CPU and HS and start over. Pay attention to the CPU core to see if you may have cracked it also. Sounds like you are triggering the CPU over-heat protection.

directions said to put thermalpaste on cpu die and bottom of HS. I took it off the HS and it works now... there was too much on, even though it was a thin layer. idle right now I'm showing 28c(stock speed) but I cleared the cmos ect because I was mind boggled. Thanks!!
