Help In Overclocking

hi,
could u guys suggest me if my system is good for overclocking
the specifications are-
Intel d865 perl motherboard
Intel p4 3.0 ghz w/ht technology an 800mhz fsb/ 1mb cache....
256 mb ddr ram (dunno whih comapany...maybe a premium one)
because i got my pc some days ago
my pc's exhaust fan makes too much sound but its sort of
irritating.Coul any body suggest me how 2 reduce the noise
 
Everything looks find except for your Motherboard. Never buy an Intel board for Overclocking. Your Ram may also hold you back (of course, it also may surprise you). 256Mb Ram isn't much anymore if you play ANY games or anything with graphics.

As far as your exhaust fan making noise, change the exhaust fan or put a bigger one there. You can get Panasonic L1A's or M1A's for around $10 and they are nice and quiet, last a long time, and move a good bit of air.
 
At this point, no amount of overclocking will make up for that 256 mb of ram. Upgrade to a gig (if you can) of the good stuff. After that, your Intel motherboard still can't overclock really, so you might be out of luck unless you buy a different board.
 
First, take an english class, then work your way up to overclocking.
