Help in Activating Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC

I had bought a laptop for a coworker that came with Windows 8.1. I had a Windows 8.1 Pro Pack which allowed me to upgrade him to Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center. Unfortunately, I did not realize the key was already used on another PC and now his PC is asking him for a product key even though the upgrade process went through fine with that Pro Pack key.

Assuming I need to purchase a new copy of Windows 8.1, which copy should I purchase to make sure he is good to go (OEM, Full, Upgrade, etc?)? Thanks!

I had a situation like this a while ago. The easiest thing to do is to purchase another key from a Windows 8 Pro machine that doesn't have Media Center installed.
