Help going from RAID 0 to RAID 1

Hi, I searched the forums and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for....but at least I looked :D

Basically, I am going to format and use my 2 80GB drives in a RAID 1 array. I have a lot of stuff I don't want to lose. My question is (beyond setting the array in the bios VIA utility) what do I need to do? Do I still need to press F6 (or F3,whatever it is) on my XP install to install RAID drivers? Do I need to set anything else in windows?

To go from raid 0 to one, you'll need to back everything up, otherwise you'll lose it as you lose everything when breaking a raid 0 array.
 
^^ yes you gotta backup since everything will be lost when you break the array. To setup the new array you'd go into your controllers BIOS, break the RAID 0 and create a RAID 1 array then reinstall Windows.
 
Thanks guys. I'm good to go with all that and understand that, it's with windows where I'm not too sure. I have to press something like F6 to install RAID drivers when installing windows XP and using RAID 0. Just wondering if I have to do these things with RAID 1 also. I'm guessing yes. Thanks
 
Yes, you need to press F6 to install the same RAID driver that you used for RAID-0
