HELP! Getting Error on First Boot new system

NVIDIA Boot Agent, PXE-2.0
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK...

I checked the cables all seems okay. The system powers up and I do get access to BIOS.

I have read a couple sites after googling, but they are confusing as hell!

suggestions, I'm jonsing to start loading everything.

1 gig Corsair TwinX
74 gig Raptor

You said it's a new system. Have you installed an OS yet? If not, have you tried booting with the Windows CD in the CDROM drive? If so, are you sure the BIOS is set to check the CDROM drive for a boot disk before it checks the HDD?

[edit] I did a google search and came up with alot of sites. This one http://delltalk.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=oplex_harddrive&message.id=5541 mentions the possibility of BIOS setting or jumper settings. Worth a shot.

Can't get to the stage of installing the OS. Boot priority is set for CDROM, HD, Floppy in that order.

I did a little more searching and some people with this problem resolve it by simply changing their IDE cable. Others have also resolved it by setting all their drive jumpers to "cable select".

The fact that your error is saying "PXE" sounds like it's trying to boot off of a network. Make sure your BIOS settings have any kind of network boot options turned off.

GAHHHH, this is pissing me off. Deep breath.

Bios tells me system is detecting My HD, MY DVDrom, and Floppy drives. Still searching for the elusive PXE settings in the BIOS.

Does the motherboard have an integrated network adapter? If so, try disabling that if you can't find a PXE setting or boot from network setting.

Disabled the Network adapters and unfortuantely realized the Windows Disc had a huge scratch. Tried polishing no avail. Ran to the local computer store and picked up a new copy of Windows, so far so good.
