I was on hardfolding.com today and saw a new member "zackboll_".

My real folding name is "zackboll"

I did a grep search on my folding directories but was not able to come up with anything. I thought I remember reading somewhere that atomicmoose had a problem like this.

Well anyways, do you guys have any idea how I can track down which renegade machine is listing my name as "zackboll_". I will wait a while and see if it post another work unit under that name. I guess it does really matter that much because its still giving the points to the best team in the world, team 33.

Use the search function at the top of the site, choose partial, type zack, choose F@H members and hit the go button.

Edit: Read it wrong.

I think he means which of his own personal machines has been misconfigured... He already found the "renegade" machine at [H]|Folding, he's just trying to fix the mistake in his config files.

Sorry, OP, I'm at a loss. :(

very carefully :) Just be happy you dont have as many boxen as FLECOM

and it looks like unhappy_mage has some compitition with unhappy-mage or he messed up too :)

If you can access the log file for each machine, look at them and one of them will be showing where you put a space at the end of your username.
[17:24:27] - User name: zackboll (Team 33) would look right
[17:24:27] - User name: zackboll_ (Team 33) would be the messed up config.
Once you find the one with the error, just run the config for that client again and type your name in without a space following it.

You could also look in the client.cfg file for the error or use EMIII to view the config info. Changes should only be made using the -configonly method.

is it possible that it could have just been isolated incident where the program messed up and reported my name wrong for a particular core?

Does anyone else here have their <name>_ as submitting a work unit. I know one guy on [H] did a couple weeks ago after reading thier post.

54 of my folding processors are on linux, folding from common network drive and when I did a "grep -l 'zackboll_' */client.cfg" , it showed no matches.

when I did "grep -l 'zackboll' */client.cfg", all the files showed up.

Could you big folders check and see if you show up as submitting a WU under <name>_ ?

I thought maybe it might be bug or something, or that Im just stupid.

Man! Did you fall asleep on the space bar? ;) :D
Oh lol... I was thinking "a space... no big deal" DOH the link says otherwise... :D

It was actually from trying to remaster an Overclockix cd with my name in the config file. Thought the OP might try grepping for 'zackboll<space>' instead of 'zackboll_' since It gave me underscores instead of spaces.

Could I get the full IP off you, I can probably figure it out with what you gave me but its easiest to just ssh into it.

thanks,
Zack

I think i already figured out which one but if you have the IP, i can check to make sure

thanks,
Zack

I gave you all the info Pandegroup gives me access to. They used to give a little more of the IP address, but not anymore. :(

I think i found it with this but not entirely but the end of ip matches.

4 cores on this computer

Do the IP addresses change often on your boxes?

This is the last octet of all your clients submitting WUs from your correct user name.

Only one matches your incorrect user name and I don't see more than 2 clients from any machine.
