My brother's old rig has a powercolor x800 gto in it. At first i turned on my pc and i hear a beep looping slowly. I pulled out what seemed to be the single bad stick of my 2x1gb Crucial Tracer 800mhz. With the other stick in i booted the pc and it worked!

Me being curious, i took out the good stick and replaced it with the bad stick to see if it would work. No it didn't, so i put back the good stick. When i boot up the pc. The first thing i see is Radeon x800 gto. That sit!

Help me please!

so it doesn0t POST right? have you tried resetting the BIOS (clear CMOS jumper)

Sounds like it's locking up when the GPUs bios is initialized. Try another graphics card, even to see if that gets it past post. Check your buddy's mobo manual and see if you are installing 1 module if it's in the right place. Some motherboards have a specific slot to use when installing only 1 dimm.
