ok, i'm new here and kind of a noob when it deals with hardware, specifically graphics cards
this is a bit of a read, not technical, but just because i describe things throughly
I am on a HP pavillion zx5000 laptop, intel pent.4, windws XP, ATI mobility radeon 9200
while i was playing warcraft 3 online, a custom map that has many graphics affects displaying - my screen went black (as if i alt tabbed and it was loading the desktop) and i saw the corner of a firefox window (like the title bar) pop up through the blackness, it's text and display was larger and disproportional, the text very pixilated. it wasn't a pop up, just a window i had already up before playing the game.
a few secs go by and warcraft 3 comes back, running normally. After i close the game, i realize my screen resolution is fuzzy, a little stretched, and objects are larger than normal.
I always am at 1024x768 - it was NOT displaying at that resolution, yet when i went to settings it said it was. I tried to make the resolution smaller and larger, but when i moved the slider just a tidge and said ok, the resolution was EXTREMELY not what i set it at. like font much larger and skinnier, pixilated, and the screen was larger than my monitor, so when my mouse hit the borders the screen would scroll over to display it...
I was going to screenshot all of this, but when i did, i found something weird. I was pasting the SS in photoshop CS2...
1024x768 >> SSed
then set the reso to 1024x640 >> SSed
then at 960x720 >> SSed
then i noticed something when i pasted, the previously taken SS's had ALSO changed resolution to that of the change i made in my display.... i have no idea whats going on.. it doesn't seem like its my graphics card, 'coz if it was, then each screen capture would have been different resolution... but what else could it be? an error with my comps display?
Please help me, i dunno what to do...
(PS im not crazy, i looked at my desktops 1024x768 and saw its icon size and clearity, which was 100x better than my laptops disease)
