Okay, I've scoured the web and searched the forums; only threads on the speaker system I have (Cambridge Soundworks/Creative DTT3500 Digital Theatre) are for sale threads (wonder why..)...

Anyway I have an optical in coming through from the PS 2 into the decoder; , as well as an SPDIF in coming from sound card (SB Live 5.1) I set to watch a dvd on the playstation, but the sound won't work. I know there is a connection because I hear tiny popping noises. I don't know what settings for the decoder; I've fiddled around; I've consulted owner's manuel, check creative's site (couldn't even find manuel there). I have also tried disconnecting the SPDIF in to make sure it wasn't a conflict between two inputs.

Would really appreciate help on this matter.
 
Just a quick check, do you have the optical option turned on in the ps2? its in the setup screen for it.
