HELP!!!! D975XBX!!!!!

So, just bought this board, got everything setup, everything working good.

I have an external USB HD, and plugged the USB cable in, the mobo completely shut down.

I then restarted, the system powers up, but nothing on the monitor, and no beeps.

Changed the jumper, tried in Recovery mode, nothing.

Removed the CMOS batter, put back in, still nothing.

The lights come on, everything, fan, etc, which all appears to be fine.

Nothing.

Please help!!!!!!

You plugged the USB cable into a back usb port? like... on the IO faceplate?

I'm guessing he did, which should not fry the system either way. Probably a bad luck. Sorry, buddy =\

Have you cleared out the power cycling in the entire computer yet? I.E., turning off the PSU and hitting the power button and then wait for a few seconds, then turn the PSU back on and hit the power button. I'm not sure if this was a good advice or not.

Yeah, I turned everything off, took all the components off, reseated everything, etc.

Looks like it's just barbecued.

I actually plugged it into the USB port that is part of the case. I don't know if that would matter one way or another.

Anyway, I took it all apart and going to RMA it.

Another quick question:

Anyone know how to get the bracket that is stuck to bottom of the board for my TT 4 in 1 HSF off? That adhesive on the sponge is very strong.

Yeah, my Scythe Ninja's backplate had such a powerful adhesive on the back and it took 20 minutes to carefully pry it off with a hairdryer. That's my best tip.
