Hey guys, I've got a problem here. :( I have an athlon xp 1600+(agoyia) and it's OC'ed to 1.75ghz, not a bit OC just a little. Running thermaltake volcano 9+ hsf with AS3. Now at this clock it was doing 36C idle and 40c under load, but now it's running 45-49c idle?!?! I haven't changed anything recently, and I just cleaned out all the dust and stuff. What are some things that would cause it to jump like that? Maybe the HSF has come off it's seat, or maybe the fan isn't putting out like it was?

 Don't know what to do about this, but at least I have a new 2.6c p4 and a p4c800 deluxe comming :). I'd really like to get this fixed.

-edit- also running at default voltages too, except for the mem that is at 2.7.

check ur dust again, sudden increase in temps are usually caused by dust buildup
if not the dust, then maybe environment is getting hotter?

How did you "clean" the dust? Running the HS under the faucet should get rid of any dust that would cling to the fin surface that blowing out may not get. Also cleaning off the old paste with soap and water and re-applying may help.
