Help Convert From Windows XP Program To Windows 7 Program

Hello...
I have an old disc printer, whose drivers and software were designed for Windows XP.
I can install the drivers, on Windows 7, but the program that shows ink levels doesn't seem to notice the printer (just says No Printers Installed, even though I can print with it).
Would anyone we willing to try their hand in making it work with Windows 7?
It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice to see ink levels.
The program is attached, if anyone can help.

If Windows 7 compatibility mode features don't make the software work, then I think it's time for you to look at moving to up to date software that does work correctly on Windows 7. It would take someone a considerable amount of time to debug what's happening with this software, potentially decompile the code from the executable and DLL's and re-write them to work correctly.

Who exactly made this software?
Do they have more modern versions of it available?
Have you tested this software using compatibility mode settings in Win 7?
Are you really just trying to avoid paying for the cost of purchasing a more recent version of this program ?

I'm not trying to rub you the wrong way - but I'm wondering if this isn't simple a cause of someone looking for a complex solution to a simple problem - i.e. update the software as required. It's not realistic at all to expect old software designed for another operating system to work on a more modern OS that's considerably different to the OS the software was designed for.
 
The company is out of business, and has been for years.
It's just a printer utility that let's me see the ink levels.
The printer drivers only work with 32-bit Windows, so I'm stuck with Windows 7 32-bit.
This utility just only works with XP.

you could run a Virtual Machine and use that to check levels. 7 Pro and Ultimate can use MS's XP Mode, can't recall if it is installed automatically or if you have to download it, but give it a shot.
