Help! Condensation inside my scanner

I'm finally getting around to scanning all the odd comics, zines, and scrapbook stuff in my collection, but started noticing the glass inside my scanner is getting fogged up from the heat exhaust from the components inside. is there anything i can do to fix this? i'm afraid if i open it up to clean the glass i'll just let in more moist florida air. Would one of those silica gel packets they put in new shoes help?

For Reference it's an Epson 2580.
