thanks

What kind of error message is the OS giving you?

How are your temps? Are your drivers all updated?

the os isent giving me a message i have clue on how to check the temps or the voltage.

The same thing used to happen on my computer, but it only happoned while playing games like counter-strie BF1942. Games like that. I believe it turned out to be my video card overheating or something. There is another way to fix your problem too, ill look into it for you.

if you go to administrative tool under control panel then click on services, then find remote procedure call, (there is two select the 1st one). Click on the Recovery tab and insted of "restart the computer" for all of them try "restart the service". Im not sure if this will help, but its worth a try.

ok i tired the remote procedure thing its all all set on take no action it was always set on that. i dont thinks its my video card becuase its still somehwhat new (Radeon 8500) i'm strarting to think its my stupid cheap motherboard.

You can check your voltages in the BIOS and using any of several tools that read it from the BIOS - motherboard monitor is usually the most popular (I use one that came with my Mobo - its really handy in that it logs the readings in a text file so I get a look at behavior over time)

That being aid, I've found that PSU and RAM seem to be the most common culprits relating to spontaneous reboots if its not software related. Heat usually results in locks and/or errors before spontaneous reboots.

What's your PSU?

i have no idea what kind of PSU or ram i have. if thats the problem then i'll just get more ram and a new PSU i gotta find out though if my motherboard suports ddr.

We can't help if you don't do some homework yourself. Open the case, look at the PSU, tell us the numbers and manufacturer from the label. Find and run Memtest86. Run motherboard Monitor. Report on your voltages and temperatures.

GOOD answers/feedback require some effort and investigation on your part.

i did the ram test. it was fine the PSU is less then a year old i dont really thinks its that. the PSU is a Novia model MS-350ATX12.

It's not the age that matters, but the quality of your PSU and whether or not its outputting consistent voltages.

ok i replaced the PSU and the Same thing is happening i'm gonna try the ram now. the last time it restared it went to the BSOD and said driver not equal or something like that.

This is pretty much a slam-dunk heat issue.

I would bet ya $10 that the chip is heating up, causing random restarts. This is a fairly common occurance if the HS/Fan is improperly installed, the ambient temperature is too high, or airflow though the case is poor.

Go into the BIOS (usually the DEL key on boot up) and select "Hardware Monitoring" from the selections. Record the heat reading in degrees C. Wait for about :10, and see if the temperature is increasing or decreasing (trend).

Good luck!

ok the h/s and fan are working good PSU is fine ram is good i dont friggen get it. it mostly restats when i'm either using BT or Kazaa lite.

Just out of curiosity, are you running the latest version of ZoneAlarm?
I was having similar problems. Ran a debugger and checked event viewer, both pointed to ZAP. Unistalled ZAP and no more problems.
Did a Google on "Zone Alarm Random Reboots" and it turns out that I'm not the only one with this problem and the latest version of ZAP.
So now I'm stuck with Norton Internet Security until Zone Labs gets the bugs out :Þ

nope no firewall at all except my router i was woundering if that was my problem with people hacking me but i dont think thats the problem
