Hello, it's me again. Now, my stupid computer froze and then had a corrupt windows files that prevented it from starting, so I had to parallel install windows XP again! Now that I have done that, I am just trying to make my computer customized to what it once was again... but, for some reason, it is really... slooooow. It is direly slow, I mean, I can't scroll down webpages without it chopping up on me!!
I installed the directx9.0c drivers and had to install windows update and got all of those updates in. BUT I'm not sure if my system recognizes my video card. I am just saying this in theory, because it tried running powerstrip on my old OS onto my new one, and it was unsuccessful because it couldn't detect a video card or something, but I could have to reinstall the program first.
Now, everything is very slow, I cant hold windows boxes and move them around without extreme choppy, and I am only thinking the last possible thing I could think of is to update the nvidia drivers. I don't think it is the processor (intel) for it is at a low CPU usuage under the processes. I've also noticed that my processes count has dropped by 4. I know the reason of at least 1 maybe 2 (norton) but about the video card? I am so confused!!!
Also... on a side note... I was wondering how I can have it so Add or Remove programs displays all my programs instead of the ones I have just installed recently on my new OS, rather all my programs including the ones I installed with the old OS. The old OS is inactive, but still is holding files. I haven't touched it really quite yet, as in deleteing content for space, but I really need some advice guys. I thought this would be the perfect place, maybe not thread, to put it. I am sorry if anyone might not like the place I put the thread but I didn't know a better place. Thank you all for your support, this forum is great! Happy holidays!
