HELP! Comp crashed cannot get it to reboot

Hello all,

System was cooking along for a few days and I had to continue to monkey with it.....
Anywho, was running Sandra to Benchmark it and the system gave me a Blue Screen.

I try to reboot it gives me NTLDR is missing error

I tried this
>Insert and boot from your WindowsXP CD.
>At the first R=Repair option, press the R key

>Enter in the administrator password when requested

and all I get is access denied, I can access the bios, I just can't get windows to launch.

I also was running into Verfiying DMI Pool Data running and running and running......

Should I just reformat

Try the repair option again, but instead of copying the NTLDR and NTDETECT files over, type FIXBOOT and press Enter. Then answer "Y"

fixboot, led to the NTLDR error again

Of course I was downloading theultimatebootcd at the time of the crash!

If you have another HD laying around, boot from that HD and copy all the files from the corrupted HD into the booted one. Afterwards, re-install XP and transfer the files back. I did this once and I had no problems.

I might as well format. I won't lose too much, and then I will back up the friggin' harddrive like I should have done previously!
