ran memtest all ok
put new mem in ran memtest all ok
still get beeps on reboot

when restart ffinishes and I try to click on a box to enter my password
the curser runs as if I were holding down the backslash key!
if I hit a key it will stop then I can backslash and all is normal
thought maybe Mb chipset drivers were hosed reinstalled them
Could I have a bad hard drive, ran WD diagnostic all ok
Ran virus sweep AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Is there a way to check the cpu mem
is my MB hosed
HELP

Right now all is well....till I reboot

Pretty sure 2 beeps is memory issues (or memory controller issues).

You took off ALL the overclocking and put it back to stock speeds, and made sure that it's running your memory at timings it's rated for?

yep did all that!
I thought the controller was furbarred also.
Gonna run prime and see

How old is the system? Electronics do funny things when the caps start aging. Beeping about a memory error and doing that weird keyboard thing, but memtest can't find anything, strikes me as kinda funny.

2 years old, caps all look good
so far with the new mem and runnin stock all is ok

If the caps didn't LOOK okay, it probably wouldn't turn on. Problem is since digital devices are made from analog parts, and as they get old or subjected to stress they weren't intended for, sometimes 1 starts equalling something closer to 0.8...makes binary math come out kinda weird.

I really doubt this is what's causing your problem, so don't worry about it. I gotta remember not to say things like that when people are already worried, sorry.

Tried updating the BIOS? Obviously something is most definately not okay if you're still getting the post error beeps & the weird keyboard thing (tried cleaning your keyboard btw? or if you have a spare swapping it and seeing if it does that still). Could all just be a gooky keyboard.

Just did some Brothers in arms (real schweer) and no problems
Just don't get it, friggin gremlins
