I'm in the market for a new power supply for my new build.

I need the perfect balance of quiet, strong clean power, and efficiency.

Here's a rough sketch of my future system's components:
Core I7 CPU
X58 Chipset Mobo
2GB-4GB DDR3 RAM
ATI HD4870
WD Velociraptor

I'm thinking 500 watts should be sufficient?

I'm stuck between a bunch of brands and models. I have my eye on Corsairs, Seasonics, Enermaxes, PC POWER & COOLING, Silverstone, and Seventeam. Which brands should I eliminate?

Price is not a problem. I have a large budget.

Could someone please recommend me a good, reliable, efficient, and quiet PSU?

Thanks

Kind of hard to find one perfect power supply. If cost was no object I would recommend these 2 power supplies: (They both have what you want).

1. Antec signature 850

2. Corsair HX1000

Both are overkill but at least you would not have to spend money again for a long time.

A lower cost option would be the Corsair HX620.

If you really aren't worried about a budget, then go for the Corsair HX1000. Corsair's PSUs are some of the quietest on the market, and the HX1000 is their top model so it'll definitely do you well. If you want to go lower though, the HX620 would also be an excellent choice.
