Help changing this big pc to something simpler

Currently I have a pc that acts as both a server and htpc. I have all of my files stored on it in a RAID 5 array. The problem is, it’s in a huge CoolerMaster Stacker 830 case and just seems ridiculously large for what I want. I used to enjoy messing with it all the time, taking it apart, etc. but am moving away from that. I want something small and simple but still have all of my data. The only idea I could come up with was getting a small form factor pc which could run windows 7 and could play 1080p x264 (just have a decent amount of power for what I need). Along with this, maybe an ICY-DOCK 4x3.5” external eSATA. I could share my files over the wifi, and have the pc connected to my tv to watch x264, hulu, youtube, etc. And as for data backup, just have old drives I could plug up externally like twice a month or so and do a 1:1 backup. I’m looking for any ideas on a pc or just ideas in general. The new eeebox eb1012 coming out crossed my mind, but I’m not sure that it’s powerful enough. Also the Acer AX1700 was an idea. But if you guys even have a different idea of how I could get this situation setup simpler, I’m open to that. I just want something that can sit in my entertainment system and not look like I have a spaceship and sound like one on the side of my TV like I currently do.
