HELP...Cant install DirectX.

Hey guys i just built a new system:

AMD 3000+ Venice
Chaintech VNF4/Ultra Mobo
Corsair 2x512mb
XFX 6800GS
WD 80GB 7200rpm
WinsXP Home SP2

The problem is i cant not install DirectX at all? I went to microsoft to download it, use the chaintech DirectX, and use the games DirectX and not one can i install DirectX 9c? I took the card out and install it in my computer(in my sig) and everything was fine b/c i had DirectX. I think its the Mobo...you guys think i should do a BIOS flash? Anyone have this board? Please any help would be appreciated. Thx.
 
SP2 already has DirectX 9.0c I believe. What makes you think you don't have it?

Go to Start>Run> Type 'dxdiag'
Read out the DirectX version.

When im playing farcry....the whole game has texture corruption. I reinstall again and see but still the same thing. The thing is i check my nvidia display and it says i have directx 9 or better. I dunno whats wrong with it.
 
I did already...i just found out that it works for counterstrike? weird huh It doesnt work for the farcry that was given for free from xfx. Im about to try fear and bf2 and see how it goes.
 
Hey guys is there anyone else getting texture problems in farcry when settings are at high and very high with the 81.95 drivers? I get problems in Farcry but cs and bf2 work ok?
Is it a driver problem? Anyone please....
 
what version of DirectX do you currently have?
Run dxdiag and let us know.
 
your DirectX version is up to date. i'd try to uninstall and reinstall the video card driver just in case. if that doesn't work, i'd reinstall the game.

I did that when i found out the problem. Yet it still happens. I dont know if i should RMA the card or is it just drivers.
 
I had the exact same problem with the XFX 6800GS that I got a few weeks ago. The first time I tried to play the included FarCry, it looked absolutly horrid. Textures were missing, the ground in some areas would just be black and there were no shadows or dark areas. What I did is simply update the game with all the latest patches for FarCry and everything turned out just fine. I think the version of Farcry that XFX is shipping with the 6800GS's is corrupted somehow. Just do the FarCry update patches and you'll be ok. :)
 
I had that problem with my 6800NU and the FarCry DEMO. After I bought the game and patched it, everything looks beautiful.
