I was trying to build a new system from my current setup of a shuttle 2.4 with this ram
http://www.futurepowerpc.com/scripts/details.asp?PRDCODE=MYPN-D512MPC35P
PNY 512MB Verto DDR433 (PC3500 / CL2.5)
I have a gig of it.

I was going to try and build a 3.2 or maybe an a64 but I do alot of multitasking and want to watch hdtv on it so the intel might work better...plan to play HL2 and D3 also
A good pair of sticks of ram looks to be about 300 dollars....
how is that old ram I have compared to something newer(corsair xl stuff...etc.)?
my money would be better spend somewhere I would think? but I could be wrong.
I do not plan to overclock and if I did I would for sure change it...
any thoughts...stick with what I have? dump it?

I have 2GB of it, and it really works good.

No kidding, it is plenty fine. Plus the lowest latency that you can achieve 2 and the difference between your ram and a cas 2 latency is no greater than 3 percent increase in speed, not enough to lay down 300 smackers for it.
