Help building a budget gaming system w/ monitor under $1K

My little brother wants to build a new system with all the christmas money he had left. Do you guys have any recommendation for this build that also includes monitor??

Best thing to do is go to www.newegg.com and configure something based on 4 to 5 star ratings then when you do that come back here and post the link to the HW specs.
