help build computer with 2 gtx 690 sli setup

I'm planning to make my own very first Gaming PC, in the next 2-4 months depending on what pc parts you suggest, that I buy. I roughly have around £2800-£3100 and I would like to buy a gtx 690 for sli mode. So can you please recommend me; the other pc parts to buy for my first gaming pc! I have NZXT PHANTOM ENTHUSIAST full tower case.
 
im just spitballing here but about a third of your budget is going to go to the 690s right?

here's what I would go with

corsair h100 cooler
intel 3930k oc to 4.4 or greater
an asus maximus mobo that supports it
16-32GB of ddr3
dual corsair gt force 3 240GB ssds in raid-0
corsair 800d
corsair ax1200
etc
 
Dual 690s is a pretty big waste, especially for a first time builder. What is or are your plans for a monitor setup? Even one 690 will be great for a tri-1080p setup so having 690s in SLI is a bit excessive. But, hey... It's your money so splurge if you want.


Gigatexal recommended some excellent parts without sparing expense. If you're spending this much money anyway, then I would definitely get 32-64GB of RAM and a high capacity SSD (512+GB).

Don't cheap out on a PSU (AX1200 is a great one).

16gb Corsair C8 or C7 DDR3
Dual Samsung 830s
Antec Eleven Hundred
Platinum Power Supply
 
Yeah for a gaming PC, 16GB RAM is probably the sweetspot. Corsair is safest. Get a Republic of Gamers board a and powersupply from Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec. Corsair Force GT are great SSDs.

If you don't care much about audio, the onboard from a ROG will be fine.
 
They do bring up good points. You should have like 3 30 inch screens at min for dual 690s

Nonsense.

Unless you don't care about frame rates.

Dual 680s is merely adequate for 5760x1080 in demanding games and it would be struggling with 30" NV Surround.

Hell not even bringing up the fact that 3 good 30" monitors will cost you more then $3100 or whatever currency...

Wow, what is this guy thinking? He's making a huge mistake. There's no way two 690's is enough for that. Get three and you should be able to max out all games.
 
Ok so 3 30s is too much but i just read a few reviews and it looks like at 2560x1600 the 690 is butter
