I have an older HP (6540c w. 466mhz celeron) and I've taken the day to bring it up to speed so I can add it to my network (actually the one I'm going to create). I fixed a problem w/ the mobo (posted in mobo forums) and fixed a problem w/ XP compatability (posted in OS forums). Now I just have one last problem to solve before this computer is running like I want it to be. Here is the problem:
I plug the cord into the PSU and all the fans including the HSF start running. You start windows and shut it down and the fans still run. I tested it w/ another PSU and the fans start running when you plug it into the wall and does the same thing when you shut it down. Now, why is it doing this? I'm really confused. Both of my other computers (One new HP and one I built myself) and any other computer I know of require the power button to be pressed to start up the fans and when you shut it down in windows all of the fans turn off as well. Anyone have any insight to what is going on?
All help is appreciated!
Thanks
