Hi all,

I'm about to build a new PC as my 3500+ is starting to be slightly too slow for my liking.
First of all let me say that i don't play games so much anymore, I use my PC mostly for multimedia; running huge postgreSQL databases and multi-tasking pretty hard.
I play poker online for a living usually have 12+ poker tables open 24/7 (datamining)... which can be quite resource intensive; especially when you're working with databases that are > 10GB.
Basically i want a PC that can: Run those 12 tables, import 300+ hands per 5mins into a large database, play a video, run a bittorrent client, and unrar a movie or two all at the same time without lagging (is this even possible)

My plan so far is:
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Socket 775 2.4GHz
- Intel 975X S775 Express ATX DDR2
- Crucial 2x1GB 240-Pin DIMM PC2-6400 Unbuffered Non-ECC CL4
- QuietPC SCYTHE Ninja-Plus Heatpipe
- Corsair Memory 620 Watt, ATX, EPS12V, PS/2,

Stuff I can use from my previous setup:
- Antec P180
- DVD/Cd
- 2x Samsung 204b 1900x1200 TFT
- MSI 7800GT
- Maxtor 300GB 7200RPM sata + WD 465GB 7200RPM sata

I don't really have a budget for this "upgrade". I just don't want to pay 100% extra for 10% performance increase... But I'm willing to spend as much as possible as long as I get decent value. (oh, and I'm not interested in SLi) What do you all think?

alternatives I've considered in the past few days are: (Quad-core? ; 680i chipset?; Corsair ram?).

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!

I could be wrong but I think you can downgrade to the 520watt psu, it should be able to handle your video card or even an 8800. If Im wrong guys, please correct me.
